So you think you can ride?
The National Young Rider Forum (NYRF) has come up with a great new animated film that really packs a punch when it comes to safer riding on powered bikes, scooters and mopeds.
Called So You Think You Can Ride, it’s a series of films focused on key parts of the Highway Code that's been designed specifically for young and new riders aged 16-20 riding in an urban environment.
The goal is to highlight the most important signs, rules, and regulations from the Highway Code that are crucial for our safety, including the biggest danger zones and crash hotspots.
Each short film highlights the importance of specific Highway Code signs and shows riders how to follow them in real urban environments.
It covers common challenging areas including:
- Junction Ahead: Key Rules
- Keep Left Bollard: Key Rules
- Pedestrian Crossings: Key Rules
- Right Turns at Junctions: Key Rules
- 30mph Speed Limit: Why It Matters
- Traffic Light Signals: What They Mean
By understanding and following these rules, we'll not only protect ourselves but also contribute to the safety of everyone on the road.
By staying on top of these rules we'll also avoid fines and penalty points and stay clear of any legal hassles.
Stay tuned as we take you through six key scenarios that every young rider should know. Let's ride safely together!
