SHARP Survey

The Safety Helmet Assessment and Rating Programme (SHARP) has been running for many years. The legislation on motorcycle helmet testing and approvals changed this year, at long last, raising the safety standards for motorcycle helmets. So, this is the ideal moment to take stock of what SHARP has achieved, and ensure that safety in the riding community remains a priority for the next generation of riders.

They're asking riders to complete this short survey about helmet usage, building on surveys previously done in 2015 and 2020. The responses to these surveys shape the SHARP consumer information scheme.

The answers we collect this time around will keep the scheme relevant as we plan for changes to the helmet testing process, and changes to the ways in which we educate riders about their choice of helmet. Knowing what and why people ride, and how and why and where they buy a helmet is essential to guide us in investing the public funding behind the SHARP scheme, to make it deliver on its aims.

The survey will be open until 25th August. The more questionnaires are completed, the better SHARP will serve riders in the future. Plus there are three chances to WIN £50 in the prize draw.
