Riders are being encouraged to make the most of a free-to-use resource that compares standard-fit security measures on many popular bikes and scooters.
With spring on the horizon, and the end of the winter hibernation period near, many riders will be considering buying a new bike for their 2020 adventures.
With theft still an issue, the Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA) is calling on riders to check what security measures are standard-fit before committing to a purchase.
Launched in 2018, ‘MCIA Secured’ scores each model from all participating manufacturers against the programme criteria and awards a star for each layer of security fitted as standard, to a maximum of five stars.
This includes the following device categories:
- Steering lock
- Immobiliser
- Alarm
- Tracking device
- MASTER Security System
The free-to-use resource can be accessed via the MCIA website.
